Following the success of our first collaboration with Active Start Child Care in Calgary, Orca Coast Playground Ltd. was proud to design, manufacture and install a second custom commercial indoor playground for their new Harvest Hills location in Edmonton, Alberta.

Designed specifically for a modern childcare environment, this multi-level indoor playground transforms a dramatic two-storey space into an exciting destination for active play. The custom softplay structure takes full advantage of the building’s soaring ceilings and expansive windows, creating a bright, open play area that immediately becomes the centrepiece of the facility.

Finished in natural wood-inspired tones with rich forest green accents, the playground complements the clean architectural design of the childcare centre while creating a warm, welcoming environment for children. A fully enclosed spiral tube slide, multiple climbing routes, crawl tunnels, elevated play decks, and oversized softplay features encourage exploration, imagination, and physical development through active play.

As with every project we build, safety was a primary focus throughout the design and manufacturing process. The commercial indoor playground features fully enclosed play areas, impact-absorbing surfaces, padded structural components, and open sightlines that allow staff to easily supervise children while they play.

Built using durable commercial-grade playground equipment, this installation was designed to withstand the demands of daily childcare use while requiring minimal maintenance. The result is a long-lasting indoor playground that supports Active Start Child Care’s commitment to creating engaging spaces where children can build confidence, develop motor skills, and enjoy the benefits of active play every day.
